While President Reagan was implementing conservative social and economic policies, the youth of America were speaking out in their own ways. Music, as we have seen throughout history, reflected the mood of the country. This was the era of bubblegum pop, glam rock, heavy metal, hip hop, punk and gangsta rap. Each represented its own demographic. We will explore the culture of the 1980s by experiencing the music from this time. The genre of music that people listened to influenced their appearance and mannerisms. MTV changed American youth culture.
